Michael Pearson

Joined the Board in 2008

Michael is an independent member of the East Midlands Housing Group Board and was appointed as Chair in December 2007.  He was previously the Chair of East Midlands Housing Association for a short period and has earlier housing experience with other associations.  Michael was Bursar and Finance Director at Loughborough University for sixteen years until his retirement in April 2007.  He is involved in several voluntary projects and social enterprise and is a Deputy Lieutenant for the County of Leicestershire.


 

Chan Kataria

Chan is Group Chief Executive of East Midlands Housing Group and a member of the Group Board.  He has held numerous positions at senior level in both housing association and local authority sectors since he joined the movement in 1985.  He is Chair of the National Housing Federation in the East Midlands and a member of its national council.  Chan has been a member of various national policy initiatives (e.g. development of Crime and Disorder Act, 1998)
     
Silvia Ham-Ying 
       

MSc, BSc, Registered Nurse Teacher, Diploma inNursing, Registered Nurse, Registered Midwife.

Joined the Board in 2008

Silvia sits on the EMH Group Board as representative of Foundation Housing Association, which became a subsidiary of EMH in 2005.  She joined the FHA Board in 1993 and became Chair of Foundation HA in 2004.  She is  a part-time lecturer and nurse and was previously Principal Lecturer and Head of Continuing Professional Studies at the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences at De Montfort University.


 Maggie Bodell-Stagg    

     




    


Margaret was an elected councillor in Leicester City until
2003 and is a former Deputy Leader of Leicester City Council.
She was the Lord Mayor of Leicester in 2002/3.
Margaret also has voluntary and professional experience
of dealing with hostels and homelessness in organisations
such as the Salvation Army and Adullam Homes.

Derek Lambourne  
        

 AIB (Scot), FPC, CeMAP, Part Qualified Chartered Accountant.

Derek sits on the EMH Group Board as a representative of East Midlands Housing Association.  He joined the EMH Board in 2000.  Derek is currently a Finance and Mortgage Broker and has extensive experience in banking, building societies, accountancy and housing finance.

Richard Monk  
    

BSc (Hons) Civil Engineering, CEng, MICE, MBA

Joined the Board in 2008

Richard sits on the EMH Group Board as a representative of East Midlands Housing Association.  He is a Managing Director at Whitefriars Housing Group, leading the teams responsible for housing management, regulation and performance management.  He has had a diverse career spanning private, public and not-for-profit sectors and has extensive experience in corporate organisational and cultural change programmes.

  
Angus Walker

Joined the Board in 2008

Angus was recruited as an independent member of the Board of East Midlands Housing Group in 2008.   He was previously on the Board of East Midlands Housing Association, which he joined in 2000. Angus is a chartered accountant and is currently Finance Director of Skillshare International.  He has been involved with housing associations for 34 years.  He has served on the boards of a diverse range of voluntary and public bodies including a number with a specific emphasis on community development.


Jeffrey Knight

Joined the Board in 2008

Jeff was recruited as an independent member of the Board of East Midlands Housing Group in 2008.  He was Pro Vice Chancellor (Research) at De Montfort University until his retirement in August 2008.  Jeff is involved in numerous voluntary activities.


Colin Norman
 

Joined the Board in 2008

Colin sits on the EMH Group Board as Chair of Three Oaks Homes, a stock transfer organisation and subsidiary of EMH Group.  He is a tenant representative on the Board of Three Oaks Homes.  Colin is a former parish councillor, has been a tenant for 15 years and although now retired, had a career in management for 35 years.  He is a strong supporter of tenant participation and was Chair of the Blaby District Tenants Federation until the stock transfer to Three Oaks Homes.   Colin was also Chair of Supporting People Users Forum for 5 years and is now a Committee member on the East Midlands Tenant Participation Forum (EMPTF).  He will chair a National Housing Federation group for  LSVT Chairs once it is established.


Jo Fox

Joined the Board in 2008

Jo sits on the EMH Group Board  as a representative of Three Oaks Homes, a stock transfer organisation and subsidiary of EMH Group.  She is a representative of Blaby District Council on the Board of Three Oaks Homes.  As a local councillor, she represents the ward of Ravenhurst and Fosse in Braunstone Town – an area with a large number of Council properties.  Jo sits on a number of Blaby District council committees. She has been an elected member for 18 years and has been Leader of her Parish Council for 17 years. She has had a long career in teaching and is currently Learning Zone coordinator for Adult Learning in Highfields & St Peters areas of Leicester City.


Jasper Hart

Joined the Board in 2008

Jasper sits on the EMH Group Board as representative of Midlands Rural Housing and Village Development Association (MRH), which became a subsidiary of EMH in 1997.  He became Chair of MRH in 2006 and is also Chair of Northamptonshire Rural Housing Association, which he joined in 1992.  Jasper has been in farming all his life.  In recent years he has been involved in a number of diversification enterprises, has planted 45 acres of trees and excavated a 5.5 acre lake!

Janet Beaumont






Janet was recruited as an Independent Member of the EMH group in 2009. She worked in Local government for 32 years until March 2008 when she left as Chief Executive of Local Government East Midlands (LGEM) to set up her own Consultancy. LGEM was a not for profit Association representing the 46 Local Authorities in the East Midlands.
